We are proud to now announce the return of the Earth Frequency Festival Community Fund in 2017. This fund is a direct donation from the festival to the local community, independent of other local area fundraising activities done by local charities and community groups at the festival. 1% of ticket sales is now allocated each year to a community fund which local individuals and organisations may apply for worthy causes that will benefit the local area of the festival.
Applications are open until January 31st, and the successful applicants will be notified in February.
The EFF Community Fund is an annual initiative, delivering assistance to worthy local area projects as another positive outcome from the festival each year. We would like to thank the local community groups for their support and the committee members for their time in assisting this process.
EFF2016 Community Fund
In it’s first year the EFF Community Fund has raised $6700. Rather than donating the community fund money to a specific organisation, Earth Frequency has overseen a committee being formed consisting of various community leaders and residents to decide on the allocation of funds from the applications we received. The 2016 EFF Community Fund has been allocated to the following projects.
$3000 - to be used to repaint the Purga Community Hall and School buildings, as a joint project between the Purga Friends Association and Purga Country Women's Association
$2900 - to be used to create a Buddy Bench at the Peak Crossing State School. This bench will be used to help new kids or any kids who might need a friend or some support by enabling them to sit at the Buddy Bench to find a buddy!
$800 - to be used for a paper folding machine for the Harrisville Neighbourhood Watch group. This is a volunteer driven initiative and the time required to fold and send the newsletter is considerable. We'll be helping the Neighbourhood Watch get their message out quicker and easier !
